You only have one pair.

An examination does more than measure visual acuity and a glasses prescription. Many diseases that lead to permanent vision loss, such as glaucoma and amblyopia, show no symptoms for years but are treatable when diagnosed early, and an examination may also reveal systemic disease such as diabetes, high blood pressure and multiple sclerosis. That is why routine eye examinations matter even when you think your vision is fine.

Eye care and eyewear.

Examinations are recommended beginning at 6 months of age, at 3 years old and yearly thereafter. Adults are recommended every 2 years unless your optometrist advises otherwise, and seniors yearly.

Our optometrists co-manage with many ophthalmologists at the laser centres for both pre-surgical and post-surgical examinations, so the decision and the follow up stay with a doctor who knows your eyes.
